Philadelphia
Hancock, Jefferson, Franklin, Adams
And a quill signature on a well-crafted document
Builders and Architects waiting for plans
On the next wonder
Businesspeople gathering their ideas
Profit is inevitable
Bankers eager for security
It's the American Dream
Civil rights activists study
For the time to speak
Health practitioners become heroes
When there weren't enough
Newscasters tell the story
While we create it
Universities earning
There's always a chance
Artists bursting with inspiration
A masterpiece is coming
Police officers keeping us safe
With a friendly smile
When I walk these streets,
I feel them from the Delaware to the Schuylkill.
I'm in Philadelphia,
The City of Brotherly Love.
A melting pot of people
Where a dog is treated as equal
Where everyone knows your name,
I forget my own.
With every encounter,
We cheer for one another.
It was never about the pint,
But the conversation.
As the Liberty Bell rings in spirit,
We work towards our freedoms.
I climb to the highest floor
To see a cityscape booming.
And as they divide,
We rise.
Because in a city that never quits,
The beating heart of a champion prevails.
